How is CBD Oil Made?

How is CBD Oil Made?

Before you get to know how CBD oil is made, let’s understand what is CBD first. Grab a cup of coffee and read on!

What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol.

The marijuana plant, Cannabis Sativa, contains the concentrated fluid extract. Chemical substances of cannabis oils differ depending on how the extract is made and the chemical elements in the plant at first, as with other herbal extracts.

There are many thousands of compounds produced by cannabis plants, but the best known is a class of cannabinoids. There are many cannabinoids, but THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (Cannabidiol) are the two most commonly used in the consumer world.

In a variety of medical applications, CBD (Cannabidiol) is a compound promising to treat many medical conditions such as acne, anxiety and depression, epilepsy, cancer, and many more between these. One significant advantage of CBD is that it does not contain THC, which is the composition that makes users “high”.

How is CBD oil obtained?

You may be aware of the varied health and wellness benefits of CBD oil, but most of us are slightly less aware of the production. And what we should know before selecting any product that is to be used.

CBD oil is produced by a couple of different processes, whether ingested or applied topically. To boot, the colours and contaminants can be changed, depending on how the cannabis plants that are used to make them are growing.

As you can imagine, before making a purchase, these are all important considerations. This is how CBD oil is obtained and what can be taken into account in the evaluation of CBD products.

Here are some of the ways of obtaining CBD oil:

Full-Spectrum Extraction Method:

Looking at how CBD oil is produced, one known method is the Full-Spectrum Extract. This means that the oil contains not only CBD but also some THC and other cannabinoids of the plant and terpenes, the anti-inflammatory agents of the plant. Usually, the most popular option is the whole plant. Research has shown that CBD oil with Full-Spectrum Extract method may be more effective in the treatment of inflammatory conditions than CBD oil isolate more in a moment.

Full-Spectrum is the term used to describe a cannabinoid (or terpene) extract with a full range. This profile provides the highest level of entourage effectiveness. The chemical contents of a full spectrum extract are close to the plant, providing a high-quality extraction method has been appropriately used.

Also, a complete spectral oil contains THC, although its concentrations are deficient. Most of the CBD oil is extracted not from high-THC marijuana but low-THC industrial hemp. Online CBD companies comply with those standards, and before you purchase, you can check the THC levels.

At low levels, when used at regular dosages, these products containing THC will not get you high. However, before buying any CBD product, make sure you know what you are taking. Plus, endeavor to look for test results.

CBD Isolation Method

The isolation of Cannabidiol to the single-molecule may be possible. The result is a white powder that is commonly found at extremely high levels. This isolate can be used for human consumption in several carriers. Also, this isolate is often added to and marked for sale with MCT oil.

Be careful not to confuse it with the full or broad spectrum oils: isolates for similar benefits have been investigated to need higher and more precise dosage.

In comparison, the Isolated Method means that the extracted CBD oil only contains CBD (i.e., no fatty acids, terpenes, or other cannabinoids). Some may prefer this method for a simple reason: since it has no THC level. An isolated process-produced CBD oil can be considered a less risky option for those of you who don’t want THC. This is likely to be low, but isolation may be the right choice for those very cautious people.

Looking at a list of ingredients, isolated products contain crystalline CBD instead of hemp oil.

During the processing necessary for an isolate, the natural terpenes are removed. Due to their importance for the environment, some companies will add terpenes back to a solvent to make a product commonly called a terpsolate.

Broad Spectrum Method

CBD Broad Spectrum Oil Extraction Method is a bit of a mixture between CBD and CBD isolation from Full Spectrum.

The rest of the compounds found in the plant are maintained in the extract, like Full-spectrum CBD; however, like CBD Isolate THC is completely removed. Because broad-spectrum CBD contains multiple cannabinoids, the entourage effect can be enhanced without the risk of psychoactive effects of THC.

A whole range of cannabinoid products is used with one exception-THC.  The therapeutic potential offered by these products does not require the consumption of THC. The broad-spectrum CBD oil provides the perfect solution for people who are tested or do not like to consume THC for any other reason.

In the past, only CBD isolation was the only THC-free option available on the market. The development of broad-Spectrum was made possible through technological advances that allow extractors to filter all THC with a chromatography process.

CO2 Extraction Method

To produce the oil itself, the most expensive and pure way of doing so is the supercritical carbon dioxide process. This new process uses fluid CO2 as a solvent rather than chemical and is often used for other commercial extraction procedures in the food industry, especially for coffee or omega-three oil production.

Ethanol Extraction Method

Among others, this is the most common method of extracting CBD oil. The fact that this is fast, power-intensive and requires cheap equipment makes it a preferred choice.

Ethanol is essentially used as a solvent in the cannabis plant to remove CBD. The process requires certain precautions because ethanol may be over flammable sometimes. So safety measures are must!

Final Verdict

It is said that cannabis oil can be used for a variety of conditions, although there is often no evidence to support these claims. People use cannabis oil from pain to acne, and some claim that oil can cure diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.

The role of CBD oil to alleviate the symptoms of many common health problems, including anxiety, depression, acne and cardiac disease, was studied.

It can even be a natural alternative for pain and symptom relief for people with cancer. Research is underway on the potential health benefits of CBD oil so that new therapeutic uses are discovered for this natural remedy.

While the efficacy and safety of CBD have been learned a lot, recent studies have shown CBD can provide a safe and powerful natural treatment for many health problems.

Hope you have an in-depth knowledge now about CBD oil which would help you further in dealing with this product!
